Men’s Ministry

One of our core convictions at Grace Rancho is that we will train men to be shepherding leaders. Men are called to be the primary leaders in the church and in the home (1 Tim. 3:1-7, Eph. 5:25-33). Their leadership is not to be tyrannical or domineering, but sacrificial, gentle, humble, and strong (1 Pet 5:1-5). A frequent image in Scripture for a leader in Scripture is one of a shepherd (Ps. 23:1, 1 Chron. 11:2, Jer. 23:4, Jn. 10:11, Eph. 4:11, 1 Pet. 5:2). We want our men to be trained and equipped as shepherding leaders who care for others.

We aim to equip men through the following avenues:

One-On-One Discipleship

Ministry is first and foremost people work. That’s why most of the ministry the church does isn’t through programs but through biblical relationships that aim to help others follow Jesus. If you are interested in being discipled, whether through a formal process like Equipping Matters, or informally as you study Scripture with another believer, contact us so we can help you plug in.

Men’s Equipping Group

Meets once a month on Saturday mornings from August-May with the goal of equipping men to develop biblical character, conviction, and competency. We ask men to commit for the full “year” (August-May) of meetings. Men meet in small groups for an hour and spend the second hour being taught. Small groups are given “ministry assignments” each month to encourage spiritual disciplines and service to the church. Our focus for past years of Men’s Equipping Group have included: Biblical Theology, Systematic Theology, Biblical Leadership, and Biblical Counseling.
